Customisation

Updated 12 January 2003
After reading three "now that I've installed the cart, how do I make it look like my site" questions in as many days, I thought I should just sit down and spend a few hours writing a tutorial on how to create the headers, footers and manage the <body> and <head> tags. < click here to view tutorial >

TWO
major updates today! First of all, an essay on how to make Agora work for you - no addons or hacks here, just information on the best way to make your ecommerce site work for you. Too many people create a store and expect the revenue to happen JUST because they have a store, which isn't gonna happen!

Secondly, a new tutorial with downloads on how to make your store more customer-friendly by allowing your customers to decide how they want to view your store, whether its with 8 thumbnails to a page, 24 text listings or 4 full description displays. The choice is now THEIRS!! < click here to view tutorial >

Updated 12 December 2002
Due to many requests in the two Agora groups, we have added our first customisation "walkthrough" for using "subcategories" and "advanced search filters" within your product pages. It also includes a quick guide of how to edit your product pages in HTML editors and have them display perfectly for you until you make the changes. Perhaps worth a read, even if you know what you're doing!! < click here to view tutorial >

The CUSTOMISATION section will be the NEXT section to be worked on. Amongst other things, the Customisation section will feature:

  • Detailed Store Manager Instructions
  • Editing Product Page files
  • Tricks with User Fields
  • Maximising use of the Database
  • Layout Tips
  • Gateway Setups

This section will no doubt be VERY detailed and extensive. It will be driven by a menu system on the left which will split the inner sections into sub categories.
